My Dream Nokia: Nokia Lumia 90
This is my first Photoshop work ever. I have only installed PS a few hours ago and start playing around with the features it has and this is what I come out with. Pardon for the poor PS skill. Introducing the Nokia Lumia 90!
As a heavy user, I have always been fascinated by the idea of a dual-screen phone-tablet transformer concept. There are a few examples in the market and most noticeably the Kyocera Echo (a dual screen phone) and the just released Sony Tablet P (dual screen clamshell tablet). Both of them shared one major downside which is the thick bezel between 2 screens.
Inspired by the curved screen on Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia N9, I come up with an idea that theoretically will eliminate or minimize the bezel between two screen. For those who had their hands on a Nokia N9, they should have noticed that those icons appeared to be floating on the screen. While the Samsung Galaxy S2 is using S.AMOLED screen that is comparable to the contrast of Nokia CBD, it doesn't has the illusion of floating icons. I believed it is because of the curved screen. Just like the glass on top of (expensive) analogue watch, they magnified anything below it, thus creating the illusion of floating icons (or larger watch face on an analogue watch).
So what I am thinking of is what happened when two precisely cut curved screen locking into each other? Since it magnified the image below so it appeared that the image is on the glass itself (probably slight distortion on the image as well), will it able it able to turn 2 individual screens into one huge, bezel-less, unified touchscreen? No one would know the result until someone make this a reality. Before that happened in real life, let's enjoy these poorly made illustration and renders. :)
The reason I named in Lumia 90 is to remember those internet tablets Nokia used to have back then. When Nokia is using the 4 digits naming scheme, all of their Maemo running internet tablets have a 3 digits name. Since Nokia is using 3 digits name for their phones now so I make it a 2 digits name for their tablet.
